Evenings Supper Club | Charlottesville Supper Club
I had the pleasure of being part of one of the most unique dining experiences I’ve ever had at Chef Bryan Kelly’s summer series of the Evenings Supper Club.
Held at The Garage in Charlottesville, Chef Kelly creates a weekly menu, using local ingredients as his base for his own sort of “culinary art”.
The Garage, in turn, is a location where many different types of art are displayed, or performed. It has been a music venue, a spot for local art to hang on display, and now hosts the Evenings Supper Club as an experience with food!
And of course, ambiance! The Kellys are great friends of my family’s, as we are part of a wonderful playgroup and have been friends for almost 5 years now. I was delighted to help out one night by taking some photos of the dinner. Melissa Kelly set up the decor and dined with us, and really was a huge part of the social aspect of the dinner. Ten seats make for just enough people for a few conversations, but not so huge that it is overwhelming. I had fun meeting another couple with a Frozen obsessed daughter (much like my own), as well as others out for the night.
The food was nothing short of extraordinary. We started with some cocktails which is always MY favorite part of any meal. 😉 Especially when they are delicious mojitos.
The soup was not only delicious, but stunning. A couple pansies, gel made from Missle IPA, with a warm soup base poured over top:
Remarkable, and almost too pretty to eat!
Almost.
It was too delectable not to eat, though.
The atmosphere, the company, and especially spending time with Melissa and Chef Bryan. Bryan was pretty busy in the kitchen next door, but took the time to tell us about each course as well as some of the interesting tidbits on the unique mixes of flavors. I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful a time I had…so much that my husband and I asked a few friends to join us for another evening so I could try another menu!

Right now there are only bookings for the summer, but there are plans for a fall dinner series coming up.
